Even though their families were affected, staff of Hela Provincial Hospital and district health facilities selflessly put aside their own needs to ensure health services continued after last month’s 7.5 magnitude earthquake.
In commending the staff of their bravery, Oil Search Foundation in partnership with Oil search distributed 300 relief kits.
Managing Director, Peter Botten, acknowledged the bravery efforts of staff who continue to provide health services despite being affected themselves.
Hela Provincial Health Authority staff will be provided trauma counselling and two weeks off work to recuperate and join their families to recover.
Oil Search Foundation will fund the trauma counselling and facilitate relief arrangements.
