A week-long training for Election Managers and Returning Officers (RO) held in Mt Hagen will end tomorrow.
The training is hosted by the Electoral Commission to educate the Election managers and RO’s to know the election procedures.
The training was facilitated by the Australian Electoral Commission.
This training is the last for the Highlands Zone B.
These provinces include Western Highlands, Enga, Hela and Southern Highlands.
Those who attended were Election Managers, Provincial Returning Officers and Returning Officers of each district in the four Provinces.
The training is to equip them with knowledge about nomination, polling procedures and counting and declaration.
After the training the election managers and its returning officers will return to their provinces and train their polling officers.
The training is the last hosted by the electoral commission before the 2017 National Election.
Meanwhile the issuing of writs and nominations will begin on the 20th of April and closes on the 27th.
Poling will start in June 24 and will end in July 8.
The Returning of Writs will be on 24th of July.
