At least 156,100 eligible voters in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville were expected to have cast their votes in this year’s National General Elections.
These votes will be split among 73 candidates contesting the North, Central and South open seats including the Bougainville Regional seat.
Total enrollment is 155, 499 voters.
The three day polls which began yesterday captured eligible voters who missed out when the supplementary rolls were not used last week.
And people are turning up in numbers to cast their votes for the Bougainville leadership in the ninth Parliament.
Acting Election Manager, Desmond Timiyaso, hopes to proceed with counting once polling is complete.
Although there were minor discrepancies on voter roll not being updated, this has not stopped eligible voters from casting their votes.
This may be the last National Election for Bougainville as the autonomous region is chartering its way forward for referendum come June 2019.
