More donations are pouring in for the affected Hanuabada villagers.
This afternoon Housing Minister and North East MP John Kaupa presented 2 cheques worth K30, 000.00.
Speaking prior to the presentation, Mr Kaupa said the situation is unfortunate but all stakeholders must help to restore normalcy and restore people’s lives.
From the total K30, 000 presented, K25, 000 is from the Treasury Department, and K5, 000 is from the office of the North East MP.
“I would like to sincerely apologise for the destruction caused but we all must help to build back the village”, said Minister Kaupa.
According to the Fire Appeal Committee, money collected has reached the half a million mark. Earlier in the day, Chinese Embassy presented K120, 000, US Embassy assisted food items, while business houses like Coca-Cola and KKK Kingston donated other household goods.
