Having received advice from the Prime Minister, Hon Peter O’Neill concerning the recent death of the late Governor-General grand chief, Sir Michael Ogio, Her Majesty the Queen sent her condolences and expressed her sadness on the passing of Sir Michael Ogio.
On behalf of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family, His Royal Highness Prince Andrew the Duke of York, signed the book of condolences opened by the Papua New Guinea High Commission in London.
This occasion is the first of its kind, to have a member of the Royal Family pay tribute by way of signing the book of condolences. This book of condolences closed on Wednesday 15 March 2017.
