Media Pool Competition Is Back

The popular PNG Media Pool Competition is back after a year of absence following the COVID-19 pandemic last year.

More than 30 teams have already registered to participate in MPC Season 21 which will begin in March.

MPC Chairman Kepson Pundu has confirmed SP Brewery will be sponsoring the competition this year.

“Like all sporting bodies, Media Pool was greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic but we have also learnt valuable lessons and will adopt the new normal protocols to guide our competition from now on,” he added.

The PNG Media Pool will host its Annual General Meeting this Saturday 20 February.

Top of the agendas includes the Chairman’s Report for 2019; Financial Report for 2019; Adaptation of the MPC Constitution; and Election of New Executives.

Pundu noted an important change in the MPC Constitution, that is, elected executives will serve a full three-year term instead of the current one-year term.

“There are other important changes proposed in the MPC Constitution so I am encouraging all teams to be fully represented at the AGM to discuss and formally endorse these important pieces of the Constitution to guide our competition going forward,” he said.

Chairman Pundu also stressed that all 22 teams from 2019 must nominate two members to represent them at the annual general meeting.
