Whilst the measles outbreak vaccination program is completed, statistics in the National Capital District continues to increase.
According to Berry Ropa who is the Surveillance and Emergency Response Program Manager for the National Department of Health, he confirmed schools, health and mobile clinics have been covered.
However with the unpromising figure, that is continuously increasing, a new concept has been identified, that will be used to still roll out the program.
This are the pocket areas – known as those that lacked attendance or where parents and guardians didn’t show up during the vaccination period.
It will be targeted in the next four weeks.
The provincial tally shows that NCD is leading the race, with 152 cases, Western on second spot with 12, Southern Highlands on 2, while East New Britain and Enga with one each.
