Farmers from the Hulia communities of Hela Province will soon have access to proper market facilities to sell their garden produce.
This comes as the Hulia market nears completion.
Komo Magarima MP Francis Potape says the market is built to emphasise to communities to get more involved in agriculture. MP Potape called on his people to take agriculture seriously to help sustain families and communities.
He delivered a sum of K100,000 in cash to head farmer Jenny Mandika, witnessed by over 4,000 farming cooperative groups in the Hulia Valley. Jenny Mandika said the funding will not be handed out but used to help farmers buy fertilisers, seeds and other logistics.
The Hulia market will cater for over 2,000 farmers to sell their produce. The market was funded under the district market initiative program through DSIP funds.
MP Potape says the Hulia market is set to open before the end of next month.
