Madang Provincial Health Authority recently held a farewell dinner program at the Madang Lodge for sixty-five long-serving staff members retiring.
The program was witnessed by the families of the retirees and the staff of Madang Provincial Health Authority.
Among the attendees were the families of those who had passed on during the time they were still serving. They had traveled in from all other districts of the province to celebrate the end of a chapter of their lives.
Madang Provincial Health Authority Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Martin Daimen, expressed his gratitude to the retiring staff.
“As we celebrate the lives, the careers, and the enduring contribution of 65 remarkable men and women who have faithfully served our nation through the National Health Public. We celebrate their years of sacrifice, dedication, and service to the people of this nation,” Dr. Daimen said.
The retirees had served in the districts of Madang Province and across the region. They have helped and influenced the lives of many people across the country in support of humanity.
Dr. Daimen further expressed, “retiring is not an end, rather, a new beginning, it is a time to rest, reset, and reconnect with families.”
A representative of the retirees, Mr. Paul Mabong, thanked his colleagues for being part of the nation’s building and commended them for their dedication.
Mr. Mabong also encouraged his colleagues to continue serving back in their communities in ways that they can and to manage their retirement benefits wisely.
The acting Human Resource Manager, Tore, shared similar sentiments as the CEO, to the retirees, “you are heroes in the work that you have been doing to serve humanity.”
The program honored the retirees with certificates and gifts. Families of staff who had passed on have received on their behalf, and they also acknowledged the retirees who could not make it, due to the distance, as a few were living as far as Ramu.
