The Madang Football Club will make its debut tomorrow in its first match in the OFC Champions League against AS Central of Tahiti.
Tomorrow’s taste of the Champions League will test their capabilities as national representatives of club football in the Pacific’s biggest stage.
A good outfit with at least half of the 21-man squad well versed as they have had a number of matches over the years against PNG’s former National champions, Hekari United, as well as twice defeating two time NSL winners, Lae Dwellers.
Captain, Samuel Kini, has had Champions League experience over his two seasons in the mid field with Hekari United.
Under the guidance of Coach Francis Moyap, with his experience as a former PNG rep, former coach of the National Women’s League champions, Telikom, for four consecutive years and leading the Madang side to
NSL grandfinal in 2015, Madang FC, is out to bring at least a win home.
At the moment their biggest threat is host, AS Magenta of New Caledonia, though this PNG side has the likes of former Hekari and PNG rep Samuel Kini as captain, and PNG Reps, Darren Steven , Jacob Sabua, Vanya Malagian , Patrick Aisa and Max Segum, to back them up.
