LIQUOR BAN IN CENTRAL

Central province has imposed restriction on liquor sale and consumption in the province during the festive period starting tomorrow to ensure people celebrate peacefully.

Acting Provincial Administrator and the Chief Liquor Commissioner Edward Kila in a statement stated that, “there will be no liquor sales, consumption or transporting during Christmas and New Year festive period on the following dates, 22nd to the 26th of December 2023 and 1st of January 2024.”

“The purpose of this liquor sales and consumption restriction is to ensure peaceful and trouble free Christmas and New Year festive period be observe in central province” Mr Kila stated.

He added that normal Police operations will be carried out as well as liquor officers will monitor to ensure the restrictions are adhere to and complied with.

Meanwhile in other parts of the country, similar restrictions were imposed.

On behalf of the Central Provincial Government, Mr Kila wishes everyone in the province a safe and trouble free Christmas and New Year festive period.
