Late visa sees Karo Kauna stepping in for Hunters’ Adex Wera

Karo Kauna will become the 3rd debutant in the SP PNG Hunters when he runs on in place of Adex Wera.

Wera was omitted because his Visa to travel to Australia was not ready.

After weeks of training, preparations leading up to the Hunters’ first match have been disrupted due to Wera missing out. Karo Kauna has replaced Wera in the centres, and will be in the starting line-up.

Kauna says although he was a last minute inclusion, he has been training with the team for the past 11 weeks, and will give his best. Kauna will wear jersey number 19 and becomes Hunter 49 after Nixon Put and Moses Meninga, who are also set to make their mark in the team this weekend.

Noel Joel is the other player omitted. Radley Brawa has been named as the 18th man travelling with the team. The SP Hunters team travelled to Brisbane this morning.

This afternoon they travel to Rockhampton in Australia for Saturday’s 6pm clash against the Central Queensland Capras.

The team returns to Port Moresby on Sunday.
