Late Lady Hannah Dadae, spouse of the Governor-General of Papua New Guinea, Sir Bob Bofeng Dadae had a dream of establishing a bigger Charity Organization.

Her dream was outdone when she died from liver cancer on December 4th, at Pindara Private Hospital, Gold Coast, Australia.

A funeral service was held today (10 December, 2018) at Marimari Lutheran Church, Gordons. In attendance was Prime Minister Peter O’Neill, members of parliament, the staff of the Government House and family and friends.

Her eulogy was a colorful one given by her daughter.

Lady Hannah Dadae comes from Garaina in Morobe Province. She was 53 years old.

She started serving in the teaching ministry in 1985 in Garaina Primary School, in Morobe Province and later resigned from teaching in 2008, to support her husband, after he was re-elected as member for Kabwum in 2007, under the Somare government.

Lady Hannah established a small charity called “Rise and Shine Ministry”, following her Christian Faith to help the needy.

“Lady Hannah has been a strong woman leader in our church and Lutheran Church throughout Papua New Guinea but more particularly in the Morobe Province,” Prime Minister Peter O’Neill said.

On Tuesday 11th December, the body of the late Lady Dadae will be flown to Lae accompanied by the Governor General Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae and their children.

On Wednesday 12th December, a funeral service will be held at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lae, and thereafter she will be laid to rest at the Lae cemetery.
