In 18 months, Alu Kapa, has climbed up the Umpiring ranks in PNG and the East Asia Pacific region.
Among his umpiring appointments, in 2013 he has officiated in the New Zealand U19 Championships in Auckland New Zealand, the U-19 Quad Series in Darwin Australia, Asia Pacific Rising Stars Trophy in Brisbane, Australia, South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) Premier League and recently, the Australian Country Crickett Championships in Canberra, Australia.
Kapu has accepted the invitation and is currently officiating in the World Cricket League, Division 5 Tournament in Malaysia.
The Tournament includes hosts Malaysia, Tanzania, Cayman Islands, Guernsey and Nigeria. Umpiring 3 out of 4 matches of the tournament, he will be officiating in the finals from today.
This makes him Cricket PNG’s leading umpire. The Cricket PNG’s Umpires are proudly supported by Water PNG.
