Juffa Responds To Failed Popondetta Market Complaints

Northern Governor Gary Juffa has vowed to conduct an investigation into the failed Popondetta Town Market Project.

Mr. Juffa said several people have been arrested under similar circumstances, regarding other failed projects.

He also has plans to change the existing state of the market.

The failed Popondetta Town market is just one of many failed projects in the Northern Province.

The lack of proper procurement process has resulted in substantial amounts of funds misused.

Only recently, the provincial government established the Provincial Supplies and Tenders Board to monitor the awarding of contracts.

Governor Gary Juffa has vowed to expose the rot and ensure justice is served to those involved.

In 2011, K1.5m was allocated by Ijivitari Member David Arore, under his DSIP, to redevelopment the market.

The money has been paid to the contractor but there is nothing to show for.

The people have since expressed frustration over the incomplete project.

Mr. Juffa says there are plans to fully redevelop the market and urged his people to be patient.
