John Andy Ready to Make Debut in Hunters Jersey Number 12

John Andy is set to make his debut for the SP PNG Hunters this weekend when he runs out in the number 12 jersey.

Andy becomes Hunter number 54 to debut for the team.

Former Lae Snax Tigers forward and Hunters recruit, John Andy, is thrilled to be named in Coach Michael Marum’s starting line-up.

The 23 year old says being named in the Hunters starting team is a dream come true.

Andy, who comes from Hela, in the Southern Highlands Province, was born and raised in Port Moresby, and spent most of his life playing Rugby League.

He graduated with a degree in Geology at the University of Papua New Guinea in 2016.

The Hunters pre-season training camp was similar to that of the Snax Tigers team, and says training was passable, but he still had to work hard to earn a spot.

He played in the trial match against the Brisbane Broncos which he says was a worthy experience for him.

John Andy will be running out in the Hunters number 12 jersey on Sunday when they take on the Ipswich Jets at the National Football Stadium.
