Teachers who are serving in Jiwaka Province are being warned to perform their duties diligently and to produce results because the selection process for Jiwaka teachers will be very tough.
This was announced by the Jiwaka Principal Advisor for Education Division, Mr. Andrew Kuk in the recent education board meeting in Minj.
Mr. Kuk said that all teachers starting from elementary up to secondary school including all TVET schools are encouraged to perform extra hard and produce positive outcomes if they want to maintain their current teaching position. He said many teachers secured a teaching position but they were not in school to take up their post and serve. “Our selection process of selecting teachers next year will be based on merit and performance output so the onus is on all teachers to shape up or ship out”, said the Jiwaka Principal Advisor for Education Division.
Mr. Kuk advised the teachers that the teaching industry is now becoming challenging because more teachers are graduating out of college and university. Teaching positions are limited so current serving teachers must take their positions seriously and comply.
Mr. Kuk informed the teachers that when they are found to be absent from attending their teaching jobs at respective schools for three days or more, they will be put off the payroll until and unless they provide good reasons. The Principal Advisor’s stand was crystal clear saying that the education division will come down down on their decision
Jiwaka Provincial Government under the leadership of Provincial member Simon Kawi has seriously invested more in the education sector. They are grateful and looking forward to driving the education department pillar forward in Jiwaka Province.
