The Papua New Guinea Defence Force has ventured into a K24million deal with iPi catering as its official caterer.
The new partnership was officially announced yesterday by PNGDF Commander, Brigadier General Gilbert Toropo, in Port Moresby.
Brigadier General Gilbert Toropo said it is critically important to the Defense Force, quoting French Revolutionist Napoleon that “an army marches on its stomach.”
Meanwhile, iPi Chief Executive Officer, Scott O’Reilly, says his company is committed to feeding the troops with quality meals.
He said iPi will install a range of processes and technologies at PNGDF messes throughout the country to meet legislated food safety standards.
The contract was signed by newly appointed Governor General Bob Dadae last month and will continue for the next five years.
