Hekari Ready For OFC Champions League

PNG Soccer Champions, Hekari United, are looking forward to the challenge of taking on the Oceania Region’s Best footballing teams.

The opposition will be familiar foes, with Hekari already having met giants, Ba and Tafea previously.

 

Manageress, Vonnie Kapi Natto, described the season so far as being a very difficult one, with delays in the local NSL, also affecting their preparation. But Coach Jerry Allen was optimistic, and said the team would be heading to Fiji, with one goal to win.

 

The PNG champions are not heading to Fiji as tournament favorite’s, with a number of key players, including captain David Muta, who is currently nursing injuries.

 

The Club has announced left back Koriak Upaiga, as team Captain, and the young defender is honored to take the role.

 

Hekari will be among eleven other clubs in the Oceania Region, who will all meet in the one week tournament in Fiji, with the club’s first match against Tafea on April the 7th.
