Fuzzy Wuzzy Nines Tournament Part of Kokoda Track 75th Anniversary Celebrations

The Fuzzy Wuzzy 9’s tournament has been deferred again. The tournament is postponed to September due to the extension in the Closing of Writs of the National General Elections.

The Fuzzy Wuzzy Rugby League 9’s tournament will be held at the National Football Stadium.

The tournament is part of other activities that will take place during the Kokoda Tracks 75th anniversary celebrations.

Other activities include a Corporate Dinner, an Endurance Marathon on the Kokoda Track and a Cultural Show. So far five teams have registered for the 9’s tournament. A total of 24 teams are expected to take part.

Southern Confederate Director Gwaibo Mairi said they will field a team at the tournament. Another interesting event that will take place is the endurance marathon. Contestants will run along the Kokoda Track from the 9th to the 10th of September.

Kokoda Track Central Secretariat Chairman, Philip Batia said they are looking forward to the anniversary celebrations. The celebrations kick off on the 2nd of September with the Corporate Dinner at Gateway Hotel, then the exciting Endurance Marathon on the 9th and 10th on the Kokoda Track, followed by the Fuzzy Wuzzy 9’s tournament from the 11th to the 15th of September.

The celebrations end with a cultural show on Independence Day.
