It was a sporty weekend for 51 corporate houses and their families as the long weekend was spent out in the field, playing soccer and connecting with each other.
105 teams took part in different divisions of the senior mixed team, the women’s and men’s divisions and children under 15.
For corporate businesses such as Kimbu Lawyers & Associates, it was a great weekend of fun.
Chairman of the Charity Soccer Cup, Sioni Kami Junior, says the game over the years has gained a lot of support and has turned out to be a family orientated event with the inclusion of the children’s division.
The children’s division was the first to complete its finals with Puma Energy coming out unbeatable defeating the Air Niugini team, 3 to nil to secure first place.
The Women’s division saw defending champions, NICTA, proving too strong to score 1-nil during an added time against Fincorp who came in second place.
The competition ended late yesterday evening with Fincorp securing the first place in the Men’s division against PNG Forest Authority who finished in second place.
The senior mixed division was won by Nambawan Super Ltd against Remington Group as runners-up in the competition.
All proceedings of the charity event will be given to a designated charity organisation that will be announced soon.
