The East Sepik Kickboxing Association has received timely assistance from the Yangoru Saussia District Administration, to host the National Kickboxing Tournament later this year.
Provincial Promoter and East Sepik Kickboxing Association, Mark Sai, said the financial assistance is timely, has the code is changing lives of youths in the province. He said even young talents have shown greater potential in fighting to the top of titles.
Over 385 boxers from all over 6 boxing clubs in the province will take part in the titles. The clubs include Bapandu, Rofu, Dogum, Alis, Kuam and Nambari.
The sporting code is not knew as past kickboxers have walked away with gold and silver medals in the past two PNG Games held in Port Moresby and Kokopo.
Local MP and Trade Commerce & Industry Minister, Richard Maru, was honored to be Patron of the Association, and officially announced a sum of K50, 000, to assist the association to stage the National Titles later this year in the province. Currently, the provincial team is preparing for the titles in Lae Morobe Province.
