Deloitte commentary commends 2015 budget

by Meriba Tulo – EM TV, Port Moresby

The 2015 national budget has been described as strategically similar to those in recent years, with the government looking to improve strategies in implementing and monitoring spending.

This is the assessment of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu when commenting on the 2015 national budget presented to parliament on Tuesday.

In its commentary, Deloitte PNG says the 2015 budget is a continuation of the overall strategy of the two previous budgets, illustrating the government’s determination to stick to its main agendas primarily through funding priorities in health, education and infrastructure development.

Furthermore, while there have clearly been improvements in process, there needs to be continuance in ensuring the strategies are successful.

The commentary, released today by Deloitte, will be followed by a budget breakfast next Monday, where experts in the business community are expected to come together to discuss the country’s money for 2015.
