Dairy Farm: A First for Quality in PNG

The farm, though currently under construction, is expected to supply high quality dairy products to Papua New Guinean consumers. Products such as milk, yogurt, ice cream and other dairy snacks.

This hopes to lessen the dependence on dairy imports and create a sustainable dairy production industry in the country and eventually, in the region.

Currently the country is a heavy importer of dairy produce from our neighbours, Australia and New Zealand.

However according to Innovative Agro Industry CEO, Lior Crystal, the imports are extremely expensive and lack consistency. The establishment of the farm is to supply consumers with locally produced dairy goods; goods that will have longer shelf lives.

The first shipment of cows from New Zealand is expected to arrive in the country as early as the end of May, with the first produce to be available to consumers in time for the end of the year.

Meanwhile, construction will run parallel to production.
