The BSP School Kriket Development Program’s achievements were highlighted by BSP e-Business Development Manager, Igo Douna, yesterday at the 2017 program launch.
The success of the program was mainly attributed to the professional players that were produced through the BSP School Kriket program.
Most of the players that make up the U19 Squad, The Garamuts, were taken from the BSP School Cricket program. From there they eventually get into the A teams, which are reserve teams to the national teams. And later to the national sides.
A very good example of this program is Dogodo Bau, who became the 116th Baramundis player.
Bau made his debut last year. And he performed exceptionally well in his first match in the Inter-Continental Cup against Namibia home soil. He made 7 runs and 3 catches to top off Barras’ victory.
Even scholarships such as the Future Star Scholarship and The Player Scholarship Programs are now available as well.
The main aim is to help players take the next step in their individual performances and careers.
Current Hebou PNG Barramundis player, Kila Pala, and three development players, Jason Kila, Kiplin Doriga and Doura Gavera, have been in Canberra since last year as part of this development program.
