A consultative meeting is currently underway in Lae between the Morobe Provincial Government, Administration and the Landowners of Wafi-Golpu Mine.
The meeting is focused on the review of the Provincial Government’s position paper on Wafi-Golpu mining project.
It’s organized by the Provincial Administration and is facilitated by Albatross Integrated Limited, a national consultant company that works with landowners and conducted in consultation between stakeholders including the Provincial Government, Administration, LLG officers of the mine impact areas and the landowners.
The original position paper of Morobe Provincial Government was completed in 2019 and consist of over one hundred pages, however, it doesn’t include business opportunities for the landowners and the Provincial Government to participate in.
This is why the Provincial Administration, with the support of MPG’s advisory team, Albatross Integrated Limited, are working to formulate a reviewed position paper that will cover views of the stakeholders on business opportunities.
The workshop began yesterday and will end on Friday.
