Cocoa Festival to be held in May at Kokopo

The Cocoa Board of Papua New Guinea will host a cocoa festival called, the Cocoa Warwagira in Kokopo, in May.

The PNG cocoa regulatory body hopes to bring together a variety of cocoa beans to be assessed and awarded prizes.

The inaugural festival will be a lead up to the International Cocoa Excellence Show in Paris in October.

Despite the cocoa pod borer incursion, the PNG Cocoa Board hopes to challenge negative perceptions about the industry.
