Port Moresby-based author Hellen White yesterday officially launched her latest children’s book ‘Crocodile Style’ at Port Moresby Nature Park.
Published by Birdwing, this is Ms White’s third book published in PNG, her first two books ‘Turtle Magic’ and ‘Wantok the Dog’ proving popular with children.
At the launch, Ms White said, “I am really pleased to be officially launching Crocodile Style today. As with each of my books, I am proud to create books that appeal to PNG children and enable them to connect, particularly with animals.”
“I am also grateful to Birdwing for supporting me with each of these books and making them available to schools and retail businesses,” Ms White added.
Pacific MMI purchased 250 copies of the book immediately on its launch, donating them to Port Moresby Nature Park such that the Park could use the books to raise funds towards building a new crocodile exhibit for Nature Park’s resident crocodiles.
Mr Dorgan added that Pacific MMI was happy to also support Hellen White and commended her for creating books that sent positive messages to children about caring for animals. Pacific MMI has been a long-term gold sponsor of Port Moresby Nature Park and was impressed by the organisation’s dedication to providing a safe recreational space to residents and also in its emphasis on conversation and education.
