Call On Donor Agencies For Help

Samarai-Murua member, Gordon Wesley, is appealing to Donor Agencies to assist his electorate in rebuilding physical infrastructure to improve the Education, Health and other important sectors.

He says leading agencies have no clear visions on their mission and prove to be ineffective. He pleaded to agencies like JICA, United Nations, Capital Development Fund, and all other Agencies to help assist.

 

More than fifty four thousand lives were affected by cyclone Ita on the 8thof April. Newss and food gardens were destroyed. Food, shelter and medical assistance are of immediate need. The affected areas of Samarai Murua, have not received assistance from the Leading Agencies.

 

Member for Samarai Murua, Gordon Wesley, criticized the National Disaster office for failing to respond immediately and effectively, leaving his people to suffer.

 

He added that the amount of relief supplies gathered are insufficient. He urges the department of national Disaster and Monitoring, to explain the lack of response on this matter. He thanked the nation and the people of Milne Bay, who have helped raised funds for those affected, adding that he would do his best, to help the people of his electorate.
