Manus Governor, Charlie Benjamin, has called for investigations into the death of 10 Chinese nationals on Manus Island in 2017. He said whilst this matter remains unsolved, it may have consequences on potential investors in his province.
Governor Benjamin said to date, no arrests have been made and there has been no progress on investigations into this matter.
Governor Benjamin has called on the Police Minister, Bryan Kramer, to take action on this matter emphasising that China is one of PNG’s biggest trading partner.
In response, Minister Kramer pointed out that there are many outstanding issues that are yet to be looked into and assured Governor Benjamin that they should know the status of this particular investigation in the next 48 hours.
