Business House: Develop Tourism in West New Britain

A businessman in Kimbe is calling for the West New Britain Provincial Government to support its tourism industry.

Businessman Jacob Gavuli, said despite more attention given to the growth and development of Palm Oil in the province, tourism is another sector that needs consideration.

Mr. Gavuli made this comment after opening the second phase of Tavur Lodge recently.

The lodge is a new business in the West New Britain capital, hoping to support and develop the Tourism Sector in the province. With the West New Britain economy backed by the growth of palm oil, the Directors of Tavur Lodge say, such small businesses will support tourism in the province.

Tavur Lodge opened its new wing consisting of a restaurant and bar recently.

The lodge employs 25 staff and plans to extend similar lodging business in Bialla town.

Tavur Lodge is situated close to Kimbe town and is a family initiated project.

The opening of the new wing coincided with the hype of Christmas celebrations.
