Bukawa Cocoa Farmers Looking to Increase Production after Formation of Cooperatives

More than 140 farmers in the Bukawa area are looking to double cocoa production with the establishment of 70 cocoa cooperatives.

Today, the farmers were given certificates making the official start of their activities.

Cocoa was introduced to foreign missionaries who came to Morobe 200 years ago.

In the last five years, there has been a revival of the cooperative movement eliminating the need for middlemen.
