Blind But Gifted

They say our eyes are the centre of the human body. But for 18-year-old Levi Luke, living with no eyesight, is something he has had to deal with since he was a toddler.

Levi did not let anything stop him from living a normal life in Dabanot village.

He shares homes with his families on the East and West Coast of Namatanai, in the New Ireland Province.

But for Levi, playing the guitar is as normal for him, as he a love of making music for those he cannot see.

He was born with a small lens in his eyes. Levi has not been assisted by any chance, but said if anyone can help, he will be excited to undergo an operation to restore his eyesight.

Levi is now living among his relatives and has been given the support.

He is not the only one suffering, his elder brother is also suffering a similar eye problem.

Leading a typical Papua New Guinean village life, Levi can also play the keyboard. He has composed over 10 songs and has hopes for his songs to hit the charts.

Levi hopes to restore his eye sight one day and fulfil his dreams of recording an album.
