While all other sporting codes were busy battling it out under the heat of Port Moresby sun, Pilipino basketball hall at Gordon’s was on fire in the evening.
The first quarter, starting at a slow pace, saw the Southern Highland side with Exodus having a go at the ball while Exodus managed to keep the ball in their hands with good defense mechanisms displayed.
In the second quarter Southern Highlands quickly gained momentum with great speed to block off their opponent the attempt to score as they made their way up on the score board tally.
South’s stood strong and maintained their performance half way into the 3rd quarter while adding more points to the scoreboard while managing to get through every gap making it even more possible to score more shoots and baskets.
The 4th quarter was no different to 3rd as the South’s team swept through the court all the way to the last quarter to come out in the end as winners, defeating Exodus United 79 baskets to 65.
Sponsor and Team Manager Vonnie Kapinato was very impressed with the performance displayed by her boys and congratulated the boys on their successful win, and thanking the coach in helping the team.
