Barras Qualify for 2018 World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe

Following the round 6 of the World Cricket Championship, the PNG Hebou Barramundis along with competition Leader Netherlands are now the first two teams to secure 2 of the 4 spots in the 2018 World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe.

Barramundis now have another chance to vie for a world cup spot once the World Cricket League Championship concludes.

This revelation was made official yesterday by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

With one round to go in the ICC World Cricket League Championship (WCLC), the competition leaders advanced to the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier (CWCQ) 2018, after Hong Kong defeated Nepal in the final series of round six matches.

Netherlands currently lead the WCLC Standings on 18 points while the Barras are in second place on 16 points.

Those who have not qualified will go into ICC World Cricket League Division 2 2018 includes Nepal, Namibia and the UAE from the WCLC.

And Canada and Oman have qualified from ICC World Cricket League Division 3 for the six-team tournament.
