Regarded as the greatest AFL player of all time, Gary Ablett Jnr and Zach Smith, both from the Gold Coast Suns team, will be in Port Moresby this weekend appearing at a Charity golf day and dinner in support of the Gateway Children’s Fund PNG.

Working on his pre-season planning, Gary said he is very excited to visit Port Moresby again.

He said there is a big need for education in PNG, especially amongst young people. He said their goal is to raise K50, 000 to help build a new elementary school room. The weekend includes a chairman’s dinner on Thursday night at the Crowne Plaza, where a lucky group of businesses may donate to get up close and personal with Gary and hear some of his famous footy stories.

Gary and Zach will be joined by famous Australian singer Michael Paynter, a recent finalist on Australian TV program ‘The Voice’. Michael will in Port Moresby for this charity event.

From Melbourne yesterday, Michael said he is privileged to have been involved with the Gateway Children’s Fund PNG for over 10 years, and can verify the excellent work they do, especially for poor children in PNG.

He is excited to be with his good friends Gary and Zach to support the Charity golf day. Gary, Zach and Michael have strong Christian faith and are each very committed to their churches in Australia.

Gary has always being passionate about helping people, especially young children in the community, and through sports they are given the opportunity and a chance in life. Teaching them the basic skills they need to learn may one day see them become leaders of their country.
