The media fraternity in PNG has lost one of its senior journalists who have contributed immensely to the development of the country.
Well-known television journalist, Jerry Ginua, passed away early this morning at the Paradise Hospital in Port Moresby.
The cause of his death is yet to be made known but EMTV news understands Mr Ginua has been sick for quite a long time.
The late Jerry Ginua, has contributed greatly to the development of PNG, through his hard work and fearless reporting in the media industry.
He has been among other hardworking journalists, critically reporting politics and development investigative stories during his reporting days.
The National Television Service, Kundu 2, Executive Director, Demas Keta, described him as a fearless and articulate journalist.
Mr Ginua, from Baliau village on Manam Island, Madang province, attended Bieng Primary School on the island, then moved on to Malala Secondary School in Bogia, after that he joined a Catholic priesthood and studied at the Saint Fidelis Seminary in Madang.
He finished at the Bomana Seminary and spent his young life working at the Goroka Media Centre.
He was employed by EMTV in 1995 and his immense contribution to the development of the country through mainstream media will always be honored.
He resigned and joined the Kundu 2 television in early 2009, until his death.
His late wife also passed away two years ago.
