Fourteen Cricketers will undergo six months of rigorous training in Australia as part of Brian Bell future stars scholarship for men and Pacific MMI Scholarship for the women.
The group includes ten men and four women.
Eight of the ten men will be travelling with the Hebou Barramundi’s to Bundaberg for the Queensland Rail Bulls Masters T20 Country Challenge that will be held this weekend.
It has been a successful stint for Cricket PNG as the players have been exposed to a high standard of cricket over the six month period and has seen them performed extremely well for their respective clubs.
It will be a different environment for the men as they will play against each other in four different clubs; whereas the ladies will be playing for the Gold Coast Dolphins who are in the Brisbane District competition.
The cricketers will be working closely with Head Coach, Peter Anderson over the six months training.
Cricket PNG General Manager, Greg Campbell is confident the cricketers will do well with their scholarship program.
Mr Capbell thanked Pacific MMI and Brian Bell for their sponsorship and said the standard the boys have been exposed to is doing wonders for the players individually and Cricket in PNG as a whole.
