Papua New Guineaโs favourable sporting mascot Tura the Kokomo, makes a statement yet again.
This time not amongst a crowd of enthusiastic children, instead while making a generous pledge to the PNG Cancer Foundation.ย

PNG Cancer Foundation ambassadorial, Linda Babao, and CEO, Dadi Toka Junior, were all smiles after PNGโs most adored mascot, Tura the Kokomo, donated a heart-felt K2000.

The funds were raised at the โBiggest Morning Teaโ hosted by the Games Organizing Committee of the Pacific Games.

Donations as such, create avenue to travel and spread awareness of the deadly causes of cancer.

Ms. Babao stresses that the stain of betel nut, is the stain of cancer.ย

Children who start chewing at the age of 5 are more likely to have mouth cancer by the ages of 20-30.

In his efforts to promoting the games message and bringing it closer to the people, Tura will be travelling nationwide, and will start with Kokopo this week.
