The Abau District School Survey Report, was presented to Abau MP and Minister for Public Service, Sir Puka Temu this morning in Port Moresby.
The report is an overall status of all level of schools in the District, carried out by the Rural Education Professional Services.
Upon receiving the report, Sir Puka Temu, said the survey gives a good overview of the delivery of education services in the electorate, and how improvements can be done.
Kwapena Makara, who heads the survey team, said the report highlights areas of concern and status of how each school is managed, including its resources. “The focus of the report is on student learning, and teachers capacity”, added Mr Makara.
Mr Makara hopes the recommendation in the report will be considered and implemented by Sir Puka Temu and his team.
Sir Puka said, the report will be used as a guide to restore education services and achieve better results in teacher and student performance. Sir Puka will present the report to the Joint District Planning Committee on the 16th of this month.
A similar survey will be carried out for the health sector in Abau District.
