The 2015 Pacific Games Committee has made clear the responsibility of providing technical officials for the Games.
The Committee says this is not the responsibility of the National Federation; however the option is there for the federation to provide as many technical officials as possible; they are also encouraged to train new officials.
The cost of providing these officials is ultimately the responsibility of the Games Organising Committee and has been budgeted for in the existing Games budget.
No PNG national federation is disadvantaged either financially or operationally as a result of the Games. Rather they are provided with a once-in-a-generation opportunity to develop lasting administration and sporting skills within their sport. In addition, the technical delegates nominated by each participating international federation ensure that all sports are conducted to international standards.
GOC CEO, Peter Stewart says it is disappointing as misinformation surrounding the Games continues to be reported.
He says both he and the Games chair, Emma Waiwai are availble to the media and all 28 national federations of competing sports in the Pacific Games.
