Rapheal Obeso the Goroka Urban ward two Councilor is the new Town Mayor. Obeso secured three votes to two against the ward one councilor David Sari in his election as the mayor.
Obeso was sworn in at the Bird of Paradise Hotel in Goroka by Senior Provincial Magistrate Josephine Nidue last week following the conclusion of the LLG Elections in the Province.
Goroka Urban LLG ward four councilor Manjiro Manu Kirape was appointed his deputy after his swearing in.
The Goroka Urban LLG consists of five wards. Ward one is currently represented by David Sari, Ward Two Rapheal Obeso, Ward three Matan David, Ward four Manjiro Manu Kirape and ward five Vincent Warigi.
