PNGFA LAUNCHES FIRST COMMUNICATION STRATEGY AFTER 32-YEAR
The Papua New Guinea Forestry Authority has launched its website and landmark communication, knowledge management, and visibility strategy.
PNGFA Acting Managing Director, John Mosoro said this is the first formal communication strategy in its 32-year history. He expressed this during the launching on December 16, 2025, at APEC Haus in Port Moresby.
The dual launch signals a new era for the forestry sector, combining modern technology with long-term vision for transparency, governance, and global engagement.
Mosoro expressed that this marks a turning point for PNGFA as they move into the future linking the CKMVS to the 2021-2030 Corporate Plan and sustainable forest management.
“This positions PNGFA as credible, responsive, and future-ready,” Mosoro said.
The new website presented by ICT Manager, Roy Sangi, is an enterprise application system with modules for project management, e-services, publications, and event coordination. Senior Digitalization Advisor, Benjamin Irani, highlighted its admin dashboard and interactive project maps for smarter management and staff capacity building.
The CKMVS, outlined by Manager, Fay Duega, has five objectives including enhancing internal communication, public awareness of PNGFA’s, establish a centralized knowledge management system, stakeholder engagement and improve national and international visibility
The initiative was supported by the EU-funded Forestry-Climate Change-Biodiversity (EU-FCCB) Program, implemented by Expertise France.
PNGFA plans to focus on implementation, capacity building, and sustainability beyond 2027.
