NEW ZEALAND DEFENCE FORCE TO JOIN PNGDF IN HIGH-RISK TRAINING
The New Zealand Defence Force is finalizing its preparation to take part in the Southwest Pacific high-risk weather season that is scheduled to eventuate from November to April.
It is confirmed that two of New Zealand’s vessels; a warship and a multi role ship will be providing humanitarian assistance and disaster relief task during this training.
The New Zealand Defence Force has sent two of its military personnel to the Brisbane-based Pacific Response Group, which is responsible for coordinating the response efforts to weather events.
Nations expected to participate in this training are Australia, Fiji, France, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Tonga.
Southwest Pacific High- Risk Weather season is purposely rolled out to provide rapid humanitarian assistance and disaster relief options that complement local and international civilian efforts.
