MORE GOVERNMENT SERVICES AFTER 50 YEARS

The people of rural Mt. Sisa LLG in the Komo Hulia District of Hela Province are now seeing more government services in the area despite many challenges.

This narrative is about to change under the leadership of the Vice Minister for Planning and Local MP Daniel Tindipu. Tindipu made his second visit to the area over the eve of the 50th Independence to show his strong commitment for service delivery.

“The people of Mt. Sisa will be given more services in terms of health care, education, law and order, road access and transportation, we have already built new classrooms, better delivery wards for pregnant mothers and also subsidy assistance for small planes like MAF and SIL to fly into the area,” said Tindipu.

The local MP added that funds have already been made available for the Rural Airstrip Authorities to carry out scoping and ensure airstrips can take in small planes.

Public servants like teachers and nurses have also expressed heartfelt appreciation towards the Komo Hulia DDA for subsidizing flights into the area and also providing immediate evacuation for sick patients and emergency responses.

A K2 Millon support funding from the Provincial Government has also been acknowledged which will help the area be reachable by road before 2027.

The visit concluded with the presentation of K60,000 to locals in Dodomona, Huya and Walagu Villages with K20,000 each earmarked for the golden Jubilee Celebrations.
