Papua New Guinea’s music sensation who is currently making waves across the country with his appearance in The Voice Australia, Chris Cobb is in the mix to perform live at the PNG NRLC grand final this Sunday, September 14th, 2025.
The grand final between the Lae Tigers and Mendi Muruks is set to take place at the National Football Stadium in Port Moresby at 3:30 PM.
Cobb who fell in love with music and started his journey as a local boy playing his acoustic guitar and singing under Pine trees in Wau-Bulolo, to performing gigs around Lae, Port Moresby and Papua New Guinea is hitting the high note in his music career in Australia.
Cobb will likely pair up with Kronos who got the NFS crowd on their toes at the preliminary finals last weekend against East New Britain Gurias and Mendi Muruks.
The gates will be open at 10am for events including the kick off of the women’s competition grand final as the lead up to showdown.
Locked in on the entertainment sheet is also the World Hip Hop champions and PNG’s very own break dancers, Wan Squad. The announcements were made on the PNGRFL official Facebook page.
It will be a fun filled day of rugby league as the two Lae based face head on to see who gets the win on. If the Tigers get the win the trophy will end up in the industrial capital of Papua New Guinea. However, if Muruks get their claws on the title they will be marching the Mendi township in what could unite the people they represent.
It is also reported that the corporate hospitality packages going for K500 were sold out. Tickets are running out fast with the prizes ranging from K20, K30, K40 and K70.
