K92 MINE CONFIRMS 2 YEARS SPONSORSHIP TO GOROKA BINTANGOR LAHANIS

The K92 Mine Limited based in Kainantu Eastern Highlands Province has come on board to support the local Goroka Bintangor Lahanis in the next two (2025 – 2026) years as a minor sponsor.
This is part of reaffirming the Mine’s commitment to grassroots rugby league and community development in the Eastern Highlands Province.
The sponsorship includes K150, 000 this year that was presented on Sunday at the National Sports Institute by K92 Mine General Manager -Community Affair & External Relation Stanley Komunt, and Superintendent of External Affairs and Sustainable Development Marcus Bai after presenting the team game jerseys to the 18 men team prior to the round 2 of the PNG National Rugby League game against the Mendi Muruks.
Under this sponsorship agreement, K92 Mining will contribute K150,000 in 2025 and K200,000 in 2026, with all funds directed to supporting the club’s Men’s, Women’s, and Under 19s teams.
This financial backing will assist in meeting essential operational needs including logistics, equipment, training, and welfare support for players across all levels.
Further enhancing its partnership, the K92 Mining also announced the involvement of former PNG Kumuls and NRL star and current Superintendent Field Projects with K92 Mining Mr. Marcus Bai.
Bai will dedicate up to 10 days per roster cycle from his work at the Kainantu Office to engage directly with the Lahanis teams.
His role will involve technical support, mentoring, and on-field support to the coaching team—particularly aimed at young talent transitioning from local leagues.
K92 Mine chief executive officer John Lewins in a statement said that the Lahanis sponsorship underscores K92 Mining’s broader commitment to community engagement, youth empowerment, and the promotion of health and wellbeing through sport.
Among other sponsors is the Senda Limited with K100, 000 sponsorship to support the franchise sponsor Bintangor Limited who has been supporting the team for the past 19 years including this year.
