ELECTRONIC VOTER REGISTRATION TO BEGIN IN SAMOA

The government of Samoa has revealed that it will cost a total of $1 million Samoan Tala (US$370,018) to re-register all eligible voters before the 2026 general elections. Samoan’s Electoral Commissioner , Tuiafelolo John Stanley revealed that they hope to begin their registration for the entire country before mid – next year.

Stanley also said that the project will be supported through the Australian government. He detailed the costs will be for the staff accommodation around the island country as the work entails traveling and visiting villages.

He emphasised that all eligible voters have to be registered under the new system if they want their votes to be included in the 2026 general elections.
