Prime Minister Peter O’Neill and a government delegation launched two major projects in Madang today.
This include the upgrade of the Madang Airport at a cost of about K77.5 million.
This will see a new terminal upgrade for runways, new fire service station and four lane road from airport to town.
Prime Miister Peter O’Neill said despite political differences, people must be the focus of leaders. He said over the years Madang has gone from bad to worse with crime and other issues.
The project is targeted for completion within 18 months.
Madang is home of outspoken Opposition member, Brian Kramer who interrupted the proceedings to question the source of funding for the projects. Adding that the project was initiated by the Somare led government.
