Bypass to connect the main highway to Taurama Beach

The Taurama bypass will soon see a new lease of life, with the current dusty and porthole infested road to be constructed into a stylish four-lane road, expected to cost around K25 million, with an expected life span of 20 years.

The road construction is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

During the ground braking ceremony lsat week, Moresby South MP. Justin Tkatchenko called on the residents to work alongside the contractor to ensure it is completed on time.

Despite initial delays in funding, NCDC is set to go ahead with this project this year, with the NCD Governor Powes Parkop saying investments in the city are for the benefit of the entire nation as well.

The new road construction will also pave the way for residents to access electiricity and water supply.

When stressing on the greatness of the city in terms of infrastructure development, Governor Pakop urged the people to take ownership of their city and look after Port Moresby, now and into the future.
